GlycoSpot offers screening technology with two different types of substrates.
Purified Biopolymer Substrates (PBS) are synthesized from pure polysaccharides or proteins.
Complex Biomaterial Substrates (CBS) are substrates synthesized from complex biological material.
Both will work with e.g. purified enzymes, enzyme mixtures, culture broths, plant and animal tissue extracts.

Synthesized from pure polysaccharides or proteins. Suitable for the detection of polysaccharide degrading enzymes such as glycosyl hydrolases and lyases as well as endo-proteases.

Synthesized from complex biological material. Responsive to same types of enzymes as listed above with the specific difference related to the ability of CBS to model complex real-life enzymatic hydrolysis situations.

The Discovery Kit
The Discovery Kit contains 16 different standard substrates that are perfect for pinpointing the preferred substrate of an enzyme/enzyme mixture whose specificity is unknown. This kit provides an excellent starting point for enzyme discovery and initial evaluation and qualification.
The Optimization Kit
The Optimization Kit comprises of your chosen substrate in all 96 multiplate wells and represents a valuable high throughput solution for assessing enzyme concentration/activity/efficiency for enzymes/enzyme mixtures whose specificity is already known.
The Custom-Layout Kit
Custom enzyme activity kits can be designed from a broad range of PBS and CBS substrates, whith selectable layout, color and format. Users are required to supply enzyme-specific solutions.
The Customization Kit
Go beyond the standard GlycoSpots library with our customized kits. We transform your supplied biomass, raw biologocal materials, or purified reagents into custom substrates, allowing you to determine specific kinetic profiles for your target enzymes.
